The Challenge
Returning for a second year, the Sony World Photography Awards 2022 campaign needed a visual refresh while continuing to champion the Awards’ inclusive, global reach. With thousands of photographers submitting annually, the goal was to re-energise the campaign with a more distinctive typographic system and evolved design language — without losing recognisability.
The Response
We introduced a refined visual style that paired bold, editorial typography with carefully selected nominee photography. The updated look brought clarity, pace, and renewed energy to the social campaign, while staying true to the Awards’ core values of access, diversity, and storytelling. The result was a compelling digital rollout that built on the success of the previous year while giving 2022 its own visual voice.
